express me, cause you're moving too slow

i attended a co-worker's wedding this past weekend (about an hour and a half outside of Busan) and it was good to be outside of Seoul for the weekend. though this was my first "weekend off" in over 3 months, i felt like it has been eons since i've had a saturday off. the day started off with an 8:30 am departure (quite an early start for my current schedule), and we arrived at the wedding hall approximately four and a half hours later. when we got there the wedding ceremony seemed to be a fleeting moment. the wedding couldn't have been more than thirty to forty minutes. when i stepped outside i was confused and surprised that there were so many new people waiting outside. my other co-worker tells me these people were waiting for the next wedding. in a country where space is limited, i begin to understand it's true value. the wedding express reinforces my theory that in korea everything is about going faster and faster. so as fast as i could i make my way towards the delicious buffet that we had indirectly paid for. after gorging ourselves with food, we made our way to Haeundae, the beach town near Busan. the first thing that surprised me was the colorful assortment of hotels that had been carefully coordinated within the town plans. we found a hotel to spend the night at, and then made our way out to the beach. something about the smell of the ocean puts me at ease and bestows tranquility to my soul. Haeundae definitely made me nostalgic of home. i guess it has something to do with the Pacific. one of my co-workers figured that since we were literally by the ocean we shouldn't settle for anything less than fresh seafood. let's just say that i was thoroughly impressed at the quality of the seafood here. afterwards we found a rock n roll bar on some 14th floor to drink some spirits, throw darts, and shoot some pool. the following day we left for seoul, and i took the KTX for the first time. we barely made it on board. no less than 2 minutes after we hopped on the 2:40 pm departure train, it was taking off. about three hours, and a hite beer later we made it back. if you're going to travel down to the southern tip of Seoul, i suggest taking the KTX. it's really that much more comfortable.
